The same American F-15E fighter pilot was shot down twice during the conflict between the United States and Iran. This was announced on June 2 by the journalistic project High Side.

"The pilot of the F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet shot down on April 3 over Iran was also the pilot of one of the three F-15Es shot down by the Kuwaiti F/A-18 in a friendly fire incident less than five weeks earlier," the publication says.

It is noted that the pilot "almost certainly" became the first Air Force pilot to be shot down twice during the same conflict since the Vietnam War.

NBC New TV channel reported on May 29 that the American F-15E Strike Eagle fighter jet shot down over the southwestern part of Iran last month could have been hit by a Chinese-made man-portable air defense missile system (MANPADS). According to one of the sources, at an early stage of the conflict, China could even provide Iran with a long-range radar to detect US stealth aircraft.

An F-15E fighter jet was shot down in Iran on April 3. As a result, the United States sent special forces to the country to rescue the pilots of the plane. They were tracked down and evacuated from the territory of Iran. The New York Times reported that the second pilot was taken to Kuwait. Meanwhile, militiamen from the regions of Iran where the search for the pilot of the downed F-15E fighter jet of the US Air Force was conducted told Izvestia on April 5 that they had organized ambushes on search team helicopters.
