The case of embezzlement of 113 million rubles during the construction of houses in Magadan was brought to court

A criminal investigation into the embezzlement of 112.8 million rubles during the construction of apartment buildings in Nagayev Bay has been completed in the Magadan Region. This is reported by the regional prosecutor's office.

The person involved in the case is the head of the Vimpel group of companies, with whom four contracts were signed from May 2020 to May 2022 for the construction of five-storey houses in Nagayev Bay in Magadan.

It was established that the condition for cooperation was an oral agreement to transfer ownership of the plant to him "on a reimbursable basis." After that, a lifting crane was stolen from the warehouse site, and then 150 tons of coal, which the contractor received from the customer for heating the premises.

Money was also stolen to pay for services that were not actually provided. According to MagadanMedia news agency, the construction of the houses was never completed, the contractor paid with the money received for the plant transferred to him, and later terminated the contract under a far-fetched pretext. The total damage amounted to more than 112.8 million rubles.

The investigation of the criminal case under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud on an especially large scale committed using official position" and paragraph "b" of Part 4 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code "Theft on an especially large scale" has been completed. The materials were submitted to the Magadan City Court for consideration on the merits. The defendant faces up to 10 years in prison.
