Russia has completed the development of drugs for the treatment of Duchenne myodystrophy, short bowel syndrome and cystic fibrosis. This was reported in the channel of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) of the Russian Federation in the Maks messenger on Tuesday, June 2.

It is noted that the selexipag substance has been created, which has been transferred to the Pharmaceutical Protection Research and Production Center of the FMBA for production. The drug will be registered this year, and it will be available to children and adults with pulmonary arterial hypertension.

"In addition, work has been completed on three more orphan drugs: for Duchenne myodystrophy, short bowel syndrome and cystic fibrosis," the Moscow City News Agency quotes Veronika Skvortsova, head of the FMBA.

She clarified that the drugs were created by scientists from the Scientific Research Institute of Hygiene, Occupational Pathology and Human Ecology of the FMBA of Russia, according to the website. kp.ru .

Earlier, on May 14, Skvortsova told Izvestia that five patients had already received the Russian cancer vaccine, and 30 more people were waiting for the drug, RT reports. On April 1, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation informed Izvestia that for the first time in Russia, a personalized domestic vaccine against cancer was used in clinical practice. The agency indicated that today it can be used as a therapy for the treatment of adult patients who have inoperable or metastatic melanoma of the skin.
