Spartak Moscow Hockey Club has terminated the contract with goalkeeper Alexander Georgiev. This was announced on June 2 by the club's press service.
"The contract between Spartak Moscow hockey club and Alexander Georgiev has been terminated at the initiative of the player," the club's website says.
It is noted that Spartak retains the rights to Georgiev for another five years until the end of the 2030/31 season. The team also thanked the goalkeeper for his performance and wished him success.
Georgiev signed a contract with Spartak in the fall of 2025. Prior to that, he had been playing in the NHL since 2017.
Olympic champion and two-time world champion in ice hockey Sergey Shirokov announced his retirement on May 28. In the last regular season, the forward played 56 matches for Novosibirsk Siberia, scored six goals and made 12 assists.
