Sergunina invited residents and guests of the capital to events dedicated to the Day of the Russian Language

Cultural institutions of the capital have prepared a program for the Day of the Russian Language, which is celebrated on June 6, the birthday of the poet Alexander Pushkin. It will include concerts, lectures, book presentations, guided tours, quizzes and much more, said Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalia Sergunina.

"More than 300 events will be held in city museums, libraries, parks, estates and other venues. Muscovites and tourists will be able to watch performances based on the works of Alexander Sergeevich, their film adaptations from different years, and learn more about his life and work," said Sergunina.

On June 6, guided tours will be held throughout the day at the Pushkin State Museum. Visitors will be told about the culture and everyday life of the 19th century, the history of the creation of Sovremennik magazine, rare editions of books, portraits of famous people of that time and authentic objects belonging to the poet. In the evening, soloists of the Moscow Concert and musicians of the Tchaikovsky State Academic Large Symphony Orchestra are scheduled to perform in the manor courtyard. They will perform excerpts from such operas as "The Mermaid", "Ruslan and Lyudmila", "The Queen of Spades", "The Golden Cockerel".

Free guided tours are also organized in the branches of the Pushkin Memorial Museum, the exhibition halls on Arbat, the Andrei Bely Memorial Apartment, the Pushkin House Museum and the I.I. The participants of the Theater Boulevard Festival have prepared performances based on the plots of the writer's works.
