Anastasia Cardiakos, a family psychologist, told us how to form a healthy attitude to food from adolescence.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Tuesday, June 2, the expert called the basis for the prevention of eating disorders regular meals at intervals of about three hours and the rejection of prolonged hunger strikes. According to her, it is important to avoid constant snacking, leaving "clean gaps" between meals when only water is allowed.

The specialist also recommended limiting sugary carbonated drinks, as they provoke sharp spikes in blood sugar levels and increase hunger. Instead, she advised drinking water with lemon, mint, or unsweetened tea.

In addition, Cardiakos noted that it is better to eat higher-calorie foods in the morning, and include protein-rich foods in each main meal. According to her, a sufficient amount of protein helps to control appetite, maintain muscle tissue and reduce cravings for sweets.

She stressed that eating habits and attitudes towards one's own body are formed in adolescence, so it is important not to ignore hunger and not use food as a way to deal with stress.

In May, a study showed that the risk of developing RPP in women aged 45 to 65 years has increased significantly. According to the study, while RPP is often associated with the search for identity in young women and manifests itself in the form of anorexia or bulimia, compulsive overeating and night eating syndrome prevail in adulthood.

In April, psychologist Svetlana Savelova said that the age of manifestation of an eating disorder had dropped to eight to nine years. According to her, in the past, this condition was most often diagnosed in adolescents aged 14-17 years, and now the signs of RPP can be seen already in children aged 10-12 years, and sometimes earlier — at the age of eight or nine years. 360.ru .

In October, pediatrician-immunologist Andrey Prodeus told NSN that the cause of childhood RPP is the lack of normal eating habits in the family. According to the expert, the amount of physical activity is not combined with the number of calories that children consume, RT reports.
