Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese Vice President Han Zheng will discuss the results of the Russian delegation's May visit to Beijing after the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). This was announced on June 2 by Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.

"After the end of the plenary session on June 5, our president will have a conversation with Vice President of the People's Republic of China Han Zheng. <...> Naturally, the results of our president's recent May visit to Beijing will be discussed," he said.

Ushakov added that, in addition to the interim results, Putin will discuss prospects for further development of relations with China with a representative of China on the sidelines of the SPIEF.

On June 1, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov addressed the participants of the IX International Conference "Russia and China: cooperation in a new era" stated that relations between Moscow and Beijing are not directed against third countries. The Russian Foreign Minister stressed that relations between Russia and China are the main stabilizing factor in international relations.

Vladimir Putin, while on a visit to Beijing on May 20, said that many of the agreements signed by Russia and China are aimed at deepening economic cooperation between the two countries. Chinese President Xi Jinping, in turn, said that the trade exchange between Russia and China has exceeded $200 billion for the third year in a row.
