Two-time Olympic champion Evgeny Rylov will have a farewell swim at the Russian Championships on June 6. This was announced on June 2 by the Russian Federation of Water Sports.

"After the opening ceremony of the Russian Swimming Championships, Evgeny Rylov's farewell swim will take place, dedicated to the end of his career," the organization wrote on the Telegram channel.

During his career, the athlete won gold twice, as well as silver and bronze in backstroke at the Olympic Games. He is also a five-time world champion and a four-time European champion.

In an interview with Izvestia on April 13, Rylov supported the decision of the International Aquatics Federation to lift restrictions on Russian athletes and set an example for other international organizations. Speaking about the current state of the national teams after a long absence of international practice, the swimmer noted that athletes continue to adapt to changes in the rules, including new technical assessments in synchronized swimming.
