VK and MIPT open enrollment for the Master's program "AI and Social Media"
The Master's program in Artificial Intelligence and Social Media trains AI researchers, ML and NLP engineers, data analysts, and recommendation system developers. The training is based on VK's real-world tasks and is guided by the company's experts. Students of the program will be able to apply for positions of young specialists in VK.
The selection process consists of three stages: by July 8, you must register, fill out a CV and take online testing, then solve a practical business problem from VK, after which the finalists will be waiting for the ML section from July 1 to July 29. The selection tests will allow the best participants to receive letters of recommendation from VK for admission to the Master's degree program.
The Master's degree program is designed for graduates of IT faculties in 2024-2026 from any Russian university. Knowledge of Python, C++ or Java, machine learning, data analysis and mathematical modeling is required. There are 15 budget seats available in total.
"Together with the MIPT Phystech School of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, we are developing a master's degree in artificial intelligence. Students will be able to go from a base in ML and programming to working with generative models, recommendation systems and highly loaded services — not in isolation from reality, but on VK cases. The best guys will be able to get an offer to join the VK team in order to immediately apply their knowledge in their work. The demand for AI among students is huge, and together with MIPT we are training personnel capable of solving applied problems of BigTech," said Georgy Shchelkanov, Director of University Relations at VK.
"Fundamental training in mathematics and computer science remains the foundation for working with advanced artificial intelligence technologies. The program, developed in collaboration with the VK AI team, combines a strong academic base with practical industry experience. This allows students to study modern machine learning methods on real—world tasks and develop the competencies necessary to create future technologies," said Alexander Yuryevich Shiryaev, Deputy Director of the MIPT Phystech School of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science for Academic Affairs.
The Master's degree program in Artificial Intelligence and Social Media will start in September 2026 and will be held in a hybrid format. Details about the program and the qualifying stages are available on the website.
