The film "Sea—Sea Highway" won two prizes at the New Movement Film Festival
The New Movement Festival of Young Cinema has come to an end in Veliky Novgorod. The film from the main competition "Sea— Sea Highway" won two prizes: The award for best actress went to actress Daria Matveeva. And a special "Young Film Critics Prize" was awarded to director Ilya Khramov, for whom the film became a feature-length debut.
Let's remind that the "Sea— Sea Highway" will be released in cinemas on July 9th. The distributor is the NMG Film Distribution company (part of the National Media Group holding).
This is a road movie about an unusual trip from St. Petersburg to Sochi of four very different characters, connected by difficult relationships and vivid events. Aram Vardevanyan, Yulia Frants, Oleg Ots and Daria Matveeva starred in the main roles.
Director Ilya Khramov: "I am very happy for our film and I congratulate the entire team that worked on the Sea—Sea Highway with the awards! This is our first festival, we received a prize from young film critics, it shows that the picture is interesting, fresh and liked. I am happy that the jury of the New Movement Young Film Festival also awarded our wonderful actress Daria Matveeva for her outstanding work: she won the prize for best actress."
A red convertible rushes from St. Petersburg to Sochi, driven by an impudent photographer. Is his ex-but beloved wife Sasha with him, and... her new fiance? Chases, setups, fights and drifting: The theme will do anything to prevent Sasha's new wedding. And the fatal hitchhiker Kira, saved by the guys, will help him in this. The theme has only one way across the country to change and bring back the love of your life... Unless, of course, the brakes fail.
"Thank you to Veliky Novgorod and the wonderful, young, vibrant New Movement Festival for two awards at once. The first one is especially valuable for us, because it is a prize for young film critics. The film was shot by a very young team, and our movie, of course, is primarily for young guys who will watch and draw some conclusions from the story of the characters. And most importantly, they will believe in themselves and believe in their love. Ilya Khramov graduated from VGIK. Coincidentally, his master Vladimir Khotinenko was present at the ceremony in Veliky Novgorod today. And taking the opportunity, I thanked him from the stage for Ilya. Another prize of this festival is for the best female role — Daria Matveeva. In general, all four actors playing the main roles in our film played perfectly! I invite the audience to come to the cinema on July 9 and evaluate the choice of the festival jury for themselves," said producer Pavel Polujchik.
