The Decree of the President of the Russian Federation on holding the International Week "Peoples of Russia" has been signed

In order to strengthen the unity of the multinational people of Russia and develop international humanitarian cooperation, the International Peoples of Russia Week will be held in 2026, which, in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 382 of June 1, 2026, will be held annually. The preparation and holding of the International Week "Peoples of Russia" will take place under the coordination of the office of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

"The idea to organize the International Week "Peoples of Russia" is inspired by the versatility and richness of the culture of the peoples of our country. The events within the framework of the Week will become an example of how to protect and enhance our civilizational wealth, preserve the unique historical and cultural heritage of the peoples of Russia and the CIS, and strengthen unity based on traditional spiritual and moral values. The spiritual core of our society consists of such important moral guidelines as devotion to the Motherland and respect for historical heritage, commitment to truth and justice, humanism and mercy, love and a strong family. Today, it is precisely these values that serve as the foundation for us, underlie our statehood, serve as a pillar in the life of a person and family, and shape culture and worldview. All this will become the leitmotif of the upcoming International Week "Peoples of Russia". I am sure that it will become one of the brightest, most beautiful and emotional events of 2026," said Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation.

Among the themes and formats of the International Week "Peoples of Russia" are business and concert programs, educational events from the Russian Geographical Society and the Russian Society "Znanie", photo exhibitions dedicated to the peoples of Russia and the geographical diversity of our country.

Guests of the Week will also be able to participate in the Film Forum, which includes a business part and film screenings of films created by Russian and foreign film producers.

"The events within the framework of the International Week "Peoples of Russia" will show the very soul of Russia, the identity that we talk about so much. During the Week, the Roscongress Foundation's Soul of Russia initiative of the same name will unite the unique heritage of more than 190 Russian peoples into a common space of dialogue and cooperation. The events in the Week's program will demonstrate how the richness of the national culture of our peoples reveals their traditions and modern creativity. The opportunity to get acquainted with Russian culture and its history is gaining additional importance and special relevance today, especially for the younger generation," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation.
