Average retail prices for chocolate in Russia have decreased by 1.56% since the beginning of 2026. This was announced on June 1 by Dmitry Vostrikov, Executive Director of the Rusprodsoyuz Association.

"Average retail prices for chocolate in Russia by May amounted to 1,529.8 rubles per kg, which is 1.56% lower than at the beginning of the year and 9.46% higher than a year ago," he told TASS.

Vostrikov noted that the price of chocolate is significantly affected by fluctuations in world prices for cocoa beans. As of May 27, the price of cocoa reached $4,146 per ton, which is 22.7% higher than a month ago, but 57% lower than a year ago.

The association explained that following the decrease in purchase prices for raw materials, manufacturers are gradually reviewing the cost of finished products. If the trend towards cheaper cocoa continues, chocolate prices will continue to stabilize.

Vostrikov said on May 31 that the highest prices for chicken eggs in the Russian Federation are recorded in the Magadan region and Chukotka, and the lowest in Mordovia and the Penza region. The average prices for eggs in Moscow are about 125.5 rubles per dozen, and in St. Petersburg - 123.8 rubles per ten pieces.
