- The media reported on the repair of the British aircraft carrier after the NATO exercises
The British aircraft carrier Prince of Wales went for repairs after a 10-day exercise by the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). This was announced on May 30 by the Navy Lookout portal.
"The aircraft carrier of the Royal Navy Prince of Wales has been moored at Stavanger in Norway for several days while engineers fix a technical malfunction that is expected to lead to the cancellation of its scheduled visit to Copenhagen," the publication says.
According to the portal, the technical problem was identified even before the start of the exercises, when the aircraft carrier was stationed in Stavanger on March 14-17. At the end of the exercise, the ship was forced to return to port for repairs, which are expected to take longer than originally planned.
The Financial Times newspaper reported on May 22 that the British army conducted large-scale NATO exercises to simulate a major military conflict with Russia, placing a command center on an abandoned platform of the Charing Cross metro station. During the simulation, the scenario of an alleged possible offensive by Russian forces in the Baltic region was worked out.
