The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation will provide information on the criminal record of candidates for the State Duma elections. This follows from a document published on June 1 on the official Internet portal of legal information.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, within the limits of its established competence, should ensure <...> verification and provision, according to the submissions of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, of election commissions of constituent entities of the Russian Federation and district election commissions, of information <...> on the existence of previous or existing criminal records (convictions) of candidates," the document says.

It is noted that the categories of the crime should also be indicated, as well as information on whether it is included in the list of extremist orientation.

On May 31, Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of the United Russia Party and Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, said at the voting completion ceremony that over 10 million Russians had participated as voters in the party's preliminary voting. According to him, the competition for the preliminary vote in the State Duma amounted to almost 19 people per seat. During the summing up of the procedure on June 1, he noted that 480 participants of the special military operation (SVO) had won the preliminary vote.
