Iran says it is increasing pressure on Israel over the fighting in Lebanon
Iran has announced its intention to completely block the Strait of Hormuz and activate other fronts to put pressure on Israel over the fighting in Lebanon. This was reported by Tasnim news agency on June 1.
"The Resistance Front and Iran have set themselves the goal of completely blocking the Strait of Hormuz and activating other fronts, including the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, in order to punish Israel and their supporters," the agency wrote in a Telegram channel.
It is noted that Iranian officials demanded the complete withdrawal of enemy troops from Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, otherwise the suspended negotiations with the United States will not resume.
On the same day, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Esmail Bagai, said that guarantees of a cease-fire in Lebanon are a prerequisite for Tehran to conclude an agreement on the settlement of the conflict between the United States and Israel against Iran. He added that no negotiations had been held on the details of the nuclear issue, and the cessation of hostilities was a priority at the current stage.
