The second stage of the Russia Cycling race will be held in the Vladimir region on June 6.

On June 6, the second stage of the multi-day cycling race "Russia" will be held in the Vladimir region. More than 150 participants will take to the highway, which will connect two historical cities at once — Vladimir and Suzdal. The event is supported by the Russian Cycling Federation and the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation.

"Our entire team is looking forward to the second stage of our cycling race, which, moreover, has a significant difference from all the others — it is the only one whose route runs between two cities included in the Golden Ring. Vladimir and Suzdal are known as the two most important historical centers of ancient Northeastern Russia, and we are pleased that we were able to plan the route in such a way as to capture both cities at once. In addition, the route will not only be scenic, but also quite difficult even for experienced cyclists — an 85-kilometer route with a height of more than 571 m awaits the participants," said Nazari Kolomiets, head of sports projects at the League of Heroes.

The bike race starts in Vladimir at 10:00 a.m. and will follow the ancient merchant highway, known as the Great Vladimir Road, north towards Suzdal, where cyclists will be awarded finisher's medals. Along the way, the participants of the race will be able to see ancient sights, including the Suzdal Kremlin and ancient shopping malls. In Suzdal, as in the previous stage in Kostroma, visitors and guests of the city will enjoy a diverse cultural program, including performances by local musical groups and a gastronomic festival, which will be held in the central square of the city from 10:00 to 18:00.

The winners and prize-winners will be determined at all stages and in the overall standings among men and women. In addition, starting from the second stage, the leaders will be marked with special branded jerseys for the first time – the winners of each individual stage will wear yellow, and the leaders of the overall standings of all stages of the cycling race will wear red leadership T—shirts.

On the same day, a cycling festival will be held for residents and guests of Suzdal, in which anyone, regardless of professional training, will be able to embark on an exciting bike tour of the historical part of the city. The 6 km long route will pass through the central streets of the city and will gather more than a thousand participants. To participate, it will only be enough to pre-register on the website. Mobile technical assistance and a maintenance tent in the fan zone will be available at each stage.
