A cyst with several teeth was removed from a 19-year-old Lip woman

Doctors of the Lipetsk regional clinical hospital removed a dermoid ovarian cyst from a young girl. This is not the first such case in the practice of local gynecologists.

The patient underwent successful endoscopic surgery, minimally invasive, through small punctures. She's already on the mend and has been discharged home. According to GOROD48, several formed teeth were found in the cyst itself.

Doctors explained that such a cyst is benign and is formed during intrauterine development from embryonic cells that are "stuck" in the wrong place. A variety of tissues can develop inside such a cyst over time — skin, hair, sebaceous glands, and even tooth enamel.

A similar case occurred in Lipetsk in 2023. Surgeons at the regional hospital removed a cyst with protruding teeth from a 27-year-old patient. The girl went to a medical institution with complaints that she could not get pregnant for a long time.
