The AFU brigade was left without the means to maintain defense in the Kharkov direction

Without the rapid deployment of reinforcements, the military personnel of the 57th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will not be able to continue to hold the defense in the Kharkov direction. This is reported by France Inter reporters who visited Ukrainian positions in the region.

"Without the transfer of additional funds, the 57th Brigade fears that it will soon have to retreat from its positions," the report says.

According to the agency, one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces battalions stationed in the area of the village of Martove to the east of Chuguev, systematic pressure on the Ukrainian defense in the Kharkov direction is increasing.

More and more Russian combat groups are infiltrating the Ukrainian rear and taking up new positions on the border areas. At the same time, as the Ukrainian Armed Forces complain, it is becoming increasingly difficult for them to hide from Russian drone strikes, even far from the line of contact.

"Even 30 km from the front line, no one is safe anymore. <...> They are increasing their flight range every month," Vladimir, Senior Lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, told French reporters.

Earlier in the day, Russian law enforcement agencies reported that the command of the artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Kharkiv region is forming separate calculations from among former prisoners who are used to carry out the tasks of the barrage detachments.

Former Ukrainian prisoner Roman Dubovik, who surrendered to the Russian army, said on January 3 that the prison located in Kharkiv was empty amid the fact that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were recruiting prisoners.
