The accounts of two-time Olympic champion in athletics Elena Isinbayeva may be blocked due to the athlete's debt to the tax in excess of 705 thousand rubles. This became known on June 1 from the data of the Federal Tax Service (FTS).

Isinbayeva's debt to the Federal Tax Service amounts to more than 705.8 thousand rubles, while her accounts are not blocked, it follows from the documents.

In June last year, the athlete's accounts were already blocked. At that time, Isinbayeva's debt amounted to more than 818 thousand rubles. Three bank accounts associated with her were blocked.

In relation to Isinbayeva, on May 16 of this year, the procedure for compulsory debt collection began. The relevant materials were sent from the Volgograd court. The amount of the athlete's debt for compulsory collection was 7,187 rubles.

State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov said on May 29 that Isinbayeva had left Russia at a difficult time for the country. According to him, the two-time Olympic champion, as a member of the athletes' commission of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), was supposed to protect the interests of Russian athletes and speak out on decisions affecting the Russian Federation, but the athlete's position was not even "heard in the Russian Federation."
