HR expert spoke about the changes in Jun's work due to AI
The rapid introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) is already changing the structure of entry into the profession, and some of the routine tasks traditionally performed by novice specialists are gradually becoming automated. Such changes do not mean the disappearance of professions, but rather a restructuring of the career model. On June 3, Valentina Romanova, HR Director of the Level Group, told Izvestia.
According to her, we are talking about basic operations — primary data analysis, preparation of simple texts, information screening and working with tables. These functions are increasingly being performed by AI systems, which is transforming starting roles in companies and requirements for newcomers to the labor market.
"When we say that AI begins to do simple work, it does not mean the disappearance of professions, but a change in the very essence of the starting role. Juniors, graduates, and aspiring professionals will no longer waste time on the routine that they used to do manually. Their work will begin immediately from another level — with tool management, task setting, and more meaningful intellectual work," Romanova explained.
The expert noted that the most noticeable changes are taking place in areas where there has traditionally been a lot of routine primary work — in recruitment, marketing, analytics, finance and document management. According to her, novice recruiters no longer have to manually review resumes and create recruitment funnels: now their task is to set up AI tools, set parameters correctly and work with already processed results. Similar processes are observed in other professions, where the performance of primary operations is gradually being replaced by a shift to analysis, data verification, and decision-making.
Romanova also stressed that such changes transform the requirements for novice specialists. She pointed out that whereas previously the willingness to perform simple tasks was valued above all, today the key skill is the ability to work with AI as a professional tool. In the future, in her opinion, this will become the same basic requirement as owning office software. At the same time, the expert believes that such a transformation does not limit career growth, but, on the contrary, accelerates it by freeing up time for more complex tasks, management and professional development.
She also noted that the companies are still at the testing stage of this model. According to her, many businesses consider AI primarily as a tool to increase employee productivity, rather than as a means of mass staff reduction. Full implementation requires investments in infrastructure, process restructuring, and staff training. Large companies are already experimenting in this direction, while such solutions are still inaccessible to small businesses. In this regard, according to the expert, so far we are talking about partial automation of routine functions rather than a deep transformation of the labor market.
Romanova stressed that the initial stage of a career will gradually change along with the requirements for specialists. She noted that it is important not only to be able to use AI, but also to understand what tasks it can take on, and where control and human thinking are needed. According to her, a specialist of the future is not just a performer of operations, but an employee who is able to manage tools and get involved in intellectual tasks faster.
On May 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the replacement of low-skilled personnel with artificial intelligence is irreversible and inevitable. According to him, AI is already replacing junior staff in process automation, documentation processing, and software code development.
