The Russia-Germany business dialogue will be held at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in 2026, dedicated to the prospects for trade and economic cooperation, investment cooperation and the search for new opportunities for developing business ties in modern conditions.

"Russian-German business relations have been formed for decades and have always been based on the mutual interest of business in the development of industrial cooperation, investment and technological partnership. Despite the difficult international situation, a significant number of German companies continue to operate in Russia, maintaining production facilities, jobs and long-term investments. The holding of the Russia—Germany business dialogue at the SPIEF confirms that the business community is still interested in maintaining professional contacts and discussing the prospects for cooperation. Today, business remains in many ways one of the key channels for maintaining trust and forming the basis for future economic cooperation," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the SPIEF Organizing Committee.

Matthias Schepp, Chairman of the Board of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce, confirmed the participation of German business representatives in the Forum.

"Last but not least, considering the period after a possible ceasefire, we, like other major Western countries, want to maintain an economic bridge with Russia and protect more than 100 billion euros of German assets in Russia," said Matthias Schepp.

The business dialogue will be attended by representatives of companies continuing to operate in the Russian market, as well as experts and representatives of business associations of the two countries.

Russia and Germany have remained important trade and economic partners for many years. Despite the decline in mutual trade in recent years, about 1,800 German companies continue to operate in Russia, maintaining production facilities, jobs and investment projects.

The participants of the business dialogue will discuss the current situation of German business in Russia and Russian companies in Germany, the possibilities of technological cooperation, the role of new technologies in ensuring sustainable development, as well as prospects for the development of trade and economic relations between the two largest economies in Europe.

The business dialogue will be moderated by Matthias Schepp, Chairman of the Board of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum will be held on June 3-6, 2026.
