Rustam Sharipov, the former head of the Khaibullinsky district of Bashkiria, has been appointed acting head of the Ufa administration. This was announced on June 1 by the head of the republic Radiy Khabirov during a meeting in the government of the region.

The personnel changes occurred against the background of the initiation of a criminal case against Ratmir Mavliev. He is suspected of taking bribes and abuse of office. After Mavliev's arrest, First Deputy Mayor Sergei Kozhevnikov was in charge of the city.

"Today, Rustam Dinislamovich Sharipov has been appointed acting head of the Ufa administration. <...> I believe that Ufa needs to be given some energy now, without it we cannot enter the election campaign, which will be difficult because the city council will be elected, a huge farm that needs to be looked after," Khabirov said. The recording was published by the administration of the republic on the social network VKontakte.

The head of the republic emphasized the managerial experience of the new head of the city, noting his work in the municipal districts of Bashkiria for 12 years. Now Sharipov will have to oversee the preparations for the elections to the city council.

The mayor of Ufa was detained on April 28. Then the press service of the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Bashkortostan stated that he was suspected of committing illegal actions aimed at alienating municipal land. The area in question stretches over 1.3 thousand square meters and was assigned to one of the city's sanatoriums.
