The number of victims of mass poisoning in a cafe in Pyatigorsk has increased to 50 people. This was reported on June 1 in the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Stavropol Territory.

"The number of injured in a cafe in Pyatigorsk has increased to 50 people," RIA Novosti said in a statement.

According to the ministry, 41 people are being treated in a hospital, and nine more are receiving outpatient medical care.

On May 31, the Investigative Committee (IC) in the Stavropol Territory opened a criminal case under Article 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules that inadvertently caused mass illness or poisoning of people"). The investigators examined the premises of the institution. Samples were seized, and the necessary examinations were scheduled.

A mass poisoning in a cafe in Pyatigorsk was reported on May 31. According to the Izvestia source, 33 people, including two children, were diagnosed with acute intestinal infection. At that time, 28 victims were hospitalized. At the same time, on May 30, nine people were hospitalized in the city with an intestinal infection after visiting a cafe.
