A resident of the Kurgan region retired after 30 years of church service

Alexey Novoselov, a resident of the Kurgan region, volunteered for a Special military operation after 30 years of work as a clergyman and did not tell his colleagues about his past.

"Yes, it's also a good thing to feed the fighting guys, but I decided that I'd just be a soldier and do what everyone else does. So that there would not be any special relationship," TASS quoted Novoselov as saying.

During his three years of participation in combat operations as part of assault units, he was wounded twice, and received one of his wounds in 2023 near Artyomovsk. Novoselov received several awards for his participation in his military service, including the Medal for Bravery, and since 2025 he has headed the Shchuchansky district of the Kurgan region.
