An explosion occurred at a defense company's facility in Daejeon, South Korea, which claimed the lives of four people. This was reported on June 1 by the Yonhap news agency.

The explosion occurred at 10:59 a.m. local time (04:59 a.m. Moscow time) at the Hanwha Aerospace plant. President Lee Jae-myung promised to mobilize all resources to save people.

According to preliminary estimates by experts, the explosion occurred on the ground floor of the plant due to the ignition of fuel used in the propulsion systems produced by the company.

A chemical leak occurred in Orange County, California, on May 22. Because of this, 44,000 people were evacuated from several cities in the state. It was clarified that the industrial tank at the Garden Grove facility contains 7,000 gallons of methyl methacrylate, a "highly volatile and flammable" toxic substance. Due to the critical situation, state Governor Gavin Newsom later declared a state of emergency in Orange County. Emergency services have warned of the risk of a chemical disaster. Rescuers clarified that even if an explosion can be avoided, there is still a high risk of tank depressurization.
