The fee for a child's kindergarten attendance is charged to parents only for the days of their actual stay at the institution. This was recalled on June 1 by State Duma deputy Dmitry Svishchev, the LDPR faction.

If the child is absent, for example, during a vacation, the service is not provided and no payment is required.

"Many parents mistakenly believe that kindergarten fees should always be paid for all days, regardless of attendance. You don't have to pay for something you don't use. The law clearly states that these costs depend on the actual attendance of the institution by a particular child. If the child is not in the garden, for example, you went on vacation, then the service is not provided, which means you do not need to pay for it. The prosecutor's office has repeatedly confirmed this position," the parliamentarian told RIA Novosti.

The fee that parents pay is officially called the "parental supervision and care fee." It includes expenses for children's meals, household services, personal hygiene and daily routine. The recalculation is based on the attendance report card, and the mandatory grounds for exemption from payment are, among other things, the days of parental leave.

As Svishchev noted, in order to keep a place for a child on vacation, it is necessary to write an application addressed to the head. In most regions, a place is reserved for up to 60-75 calendar days per year. If the kindergarten management refuses to recalculate, you should contact the head with a written statement indicating the vacation period.

Sergey Rybalchenko, Chairman of the Commission of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation on demography, protection of family, children and traditional family values, proposed the introduction of a quiet hour for elementary school students. He added that such a measure should be promoted if there are extended day groups where children stay for several more hours before their parents arrive. The number of such groups will grow as parents are busy at work.
