Vucic named three reasons for the Serbs' love for Trump

On the eve of the last American presidential election in 2024, the popularity of the current head of the White House, Donald Trump, among Serbs reached "astronomical proportions," with two-thirds of the country's residents wishing him victory. On May 31, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic named three reasons for his sympathy for the American politician during an interview with the Breitbart News portal.

According to Vucic, the first reason was a fundamentally new format of bilateral relations and a kind of reset of interaction between the two countries, which Trump could offer.

Another reason is the traditionalism of the American president and his commitment to family values. The issue of transgenderism occupies a special place in this (the LGBT movement is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

"Secondly, they saw that President Trump was brave enough to raise some issues and speak loudly, openly and publicly about some issues, traditionally from a conservative point of view, differently than everyone else in Brussels and Washington before him. When I say this, I'm talking about family values, about transgender people, whatever you want to call it," Vucic said.
