Since the beginning of the blockade of Iran by the US Navy in the Strait of Hormuz, more than 120 merchant ships have been diverted or disabled. This was announced on May 31 by the Central Command (CENTCOM) of the American Army.

"As of May 31, 118 merchant vessels were redirected and five were disabled," the command wrote on the social network X (former. Twitter).

On May 29, US President Donald Trump announced that ships stuck in the Strait of Hormuz due to the American naval blockade can return home, as restrictions have been lifted.

On May 31, Trump added that the United States is currently "very close" to concluding a favorable deal with Iran. At the same time, he noted that the alternative option continues to be a military resolution of the conflict.
