A landscape park will be laid out on the Taras Shevchenko Embankment in Moscow

A new landscape park with access to the Moskva River will appear in the capital, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced on his Maks channel. As a result, residents of Dorogomilov will have direct exits from Kutuzovsky Prospekt to Taras Shevchenko Embankment.

"Experts will create a corner of Russian nature in the center of the metropolis," Sobyanin wrote. According to him, oaks, firs, birches, pines, larches and other trees, as well as lilacs, honeysuckle and viburnum will be planted in the park.

The first 36 trees, including six-meter oaks, birches and larches, have already been planted, the head of the capital said. In the near future, about 150 large-scale units will be added to them. In total, 302 trees and 312 shrubs are planned to be planted as part of the first stage. About 0.5 hectares of flower beds will be built in the park.

Recreation areas, children's and sports grounds will be set up on the territory of the park. There will also be running tracks and walking paths on the site, as well as an amphitheater. "We will make a venue for events, zones for photo shoots against the backdrop of the Moskva River," Sobyanin added. The work is expected to be fully completed in 2027.
