- In Switzerland, they pointed out the impotence of the Baltic States because of the drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Baltic states will be powerless if the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) begin to use their airspace to launch drones on the territory of Russia. This was announced on May 30 by retired Lieutenant Colonel of the General Staff of the Swiss Armed Forces, Ralph Bosshard.
"Neither Estonia, Latvia, nor Lithuania will be able to prevent Ukrainian drones from using their airspace. Thus, [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky becomes a problem even for the most loyal supporters," he said.
Bosshard added that the Kiev regime is interested in involving as many countries as possible in a confrontation with Russia, especially if this could lead to the opening of a second front.
On May 19, representatives of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) revealed Kiev's plans to launch its drones from the Baltic states. Such a step, as noted, will allow them to show the West their alleged "combat readiness." The ministry clarified that the Ukrainian militants had already gone to Latvia for these purposes, where they were stationed at the military bases "Adazi", "Celia", "Lielvard", "Daugavpils" and "Jekabpils".
On May 20, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting to Izvestia on information about the use by militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) of the Baltic territory to launch drones towards the Russian Federation, said that the Russian military and representatives of the special services were closely monitoring this situation. Peskov, responding to a question about the possible motives of the Baltic countries, said that they are ruled by "rather narrow-minded politicians" who find it difficult to give a sober assessment of what is happening.
