Iran has announced its refusal to discuss mechanisms for regulating the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran will not make the Strait of Hormuz the subject of negotiations during the conflict settlement. This was announced on May 31 by the Iranian Parliament's Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, Ebrahim Azizi.

As the parliamentarian noted, the republic also does not intend to discuss mechanisms for regulating navigation through the strait.

"We are not talking about the fact that we intend to use this issue as a subject of negotiations or to declare that the current mechanisms for regulating the Strait of Hormuz can be changed during or after negotiations," he told RIA Novosti.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported earlier that day that 20 vessels had passed through the Strait of Hormuz with the permission of the Iranian side. Other details, including the nationality of the ships and the nature of the cargo, are not provided.

Azizi said on the same day that ships from Russia and China would enjoy special conditions when passing through the Strait of Hormuz. The parliamentarian noted that the countries have always supported Iran and cooperated with the republic, including in the most difficult moments.
