The strike by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) shows that the Kiev regime is deliberately leading the situation to a nuclear incident and wants to blame Russia for this. This was reported to Izvestia on May 30 by Renat Karcha, an expert on atomic energy, a deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Zaporizhia region.
"The impact hit the joint between the reactor compartment and the turbine hall. <...> They (APU. — Ed.) act purposefully, in a planned manner. Their task is to suppress and break the people psychologically. And today's strike indicates that the second task is to bring the situation to a nuclear incident and blame Russia for this," Karchaa said.
The expert noted that the participation of the mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in monitoring the safety of the nuclear power plant and the negotiation processes did not bring the situation from "threatening to controlled." The MP also pointed out that, in his opinion, the IAEA mission would not condemn the Ukrainian side for the attack on the nuclear power plant again.
Alexey Likhachev, head of the Rosatom state Corporation, announced the attack of a Ukrainian drone on the nuclear power plant's engine room on the same day. According to him, the drone broke through the wall of the room and exploded.
The press service of the NPP clarified that there were no casualties or critical damage during the attack of a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle on a nuclear power plant.
Yevgenia Yashina, Director of Communications at the nuclear power plant, clarified that the IAEA is aware of the attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In addition, the station's director, Yuri Chernichuk, stressed that such an attack could have disabled the entire station unit.
