The Pentagon commented on the possibility of new supplies of air defense systems to Ukraine

The United States wants Ukraine to be able to defend itself, so they will look for a way to help. This was announced on May 30 by Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth in response to a request from Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky for new supplies of missiles for the Patriot air defense system.

"Where we could help Ukraine, we helped. Where we could help Europe do more, we did it there. <...> We want them to be able to defend themselves, and we will find a way to help them," Clash Report quoted him as saying on the Telegram channel.

Hegseth pointed to the increase in Kiev's funding coming from Europe. He also explained that the decrease in missile supplies was due to changes in production methods.

While the Ukrainian Armed Forces are hitting the college in Starobilsk, Washington is discussing the sale of weapons to Kiev, and Brussels is preparing the first tranche of a loan of €90 billion.

Yulia Mendel, the former press secretary of the head of the Kiev regime, said a day earlier that Zelensky was putting Washington in an awkward position with his letter to US President Donald Trump.

Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou said on May 27 that Zelensky risks facing the displeasure of the head of the European diplomacy, Kai Kallas, because of his appeal to Trump. According to him, the reason for the possible conflict was Zelensky's letter requesting military assistance, which contradicts Callas' statements.
