Hegseth announced plans for the United States to allocate $56 billion for the development of unmanned technologies

The administration of US President Donald Trump plans to invest $56 billion in ensuring the country's leadership in the field of unmanned technologies within the budget for fiscal year 2027. This was announced on May 30 by Pentagon Chief Pete Hegseth.

"In President Trump's budget for 2027, you will see investments of $56 billion in drone dominance," he said during the Shangri—La Dialogue Forum in Singapore.

According to the minister, the country is actively studying Ukraine's experience in the use of drones, paying special attention to the ability to quickly increase production and adapt technologies.

Hegseth noted that the United States intends to develop both advanced autonomous systems and massive low-cost drones that have proven their effectiveness in modern conflicts.

The US president has released a draft budget for the next fiscal year.

In April, an independent military analyst from Canada, Colby Badhwar, estimated that in the next five years, the US defense department plans to receive about 28,000 cruise missiles in the FAMM-P and FAMM-L variants from the industry.
