The carcass of a humpback whale named Timmy, which died off the coast of Denmark, was recovered on land. The corresponding footage was published on May 30 by the German newspaper Bild.

The video shows the work of special equipment and about ten specialists. An attempt is being made to move the carcass of a marine animal fixed by cables using a tractor.

It is assumed that in the future Timmy will be transferred to the study of scientists from the Danish city of Greno. Experts plan to conduct an autopsy and take the biomaterials of the dead whale for further analysis.

The fact that Timmy was stuck in shallow water in the Baltic Sea became known on March 28. It was noted that this was due to the fact that he had left the route that he could have originally taken to the North Sea. The next day, it became known that the condition of the trapped animal had worsened, and after a while information appeared that wounds were found on the whale's body, probably inflicted by a ship's propeller. The German authorities made several attempts to save Timmy, as a result of which he began to move, and later completely got out of the trap.

The DPA news agency reported on May 2 that the whale had been released into the Atlantic. Later, on May 15, the Berliner Zeitung reported the discovery of a dead humpback whale off the island of Anholt, which could be Timmy. The death of the animal was confirmed on May 21.
