Patrushev called for monitoring the provision of agricultural producers with seeds and machinery

Plans for the harvest and food security of Russia were discussed at the final board of the Ministry of Agriculture. On May 29, Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, summed up the work over the past year and outlined the vector of the industry's development.

The Russian agro-industrial complex demonstrates sustainability and technological development, despite adverse weather conditions and economic challenges. Last year, the industry ensured the fulfillment of the parameters of the Food Security Doctrine and strengthened its position in international markets.

"The financing of the industry in [20]25 exceeded 650 billion rubles. This ensured the production of products with the necessary state support measures. As a result, agricultural production increased by almost 5%. We have received the third grain harvest in the country's history. The production of raw milk has been increased, and stable production of finished products has been ensured. Our fisheries complex also worked stably. Thus, according to the results of [20] of the 25th year, the domestic market was fully supplied with food products. Many guidelines of the Food Security Doctrine have been fulfilled with excess. In [20]26, the planned funds for the support of the industry by the government have already been brought to the Ministry of Agriculture and end-producers. The sowing campaign is in full swing. Three quarters of the planned areas have been sown. I ask you to ensure that our producers are provided with seeds, machinery, fertilizers and fuel throughout the season. In all these areas, the government retains the necessary set of tools that allow us to regulate the situation and support farmers," said the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

Further development is expected through the implementation of the national project "Technological food security", which includes preferential loans, the development of agricultural cooperation, compensation for logistical costs and large-scale digitalization. These measures will improve production efficiency, reduce costs and increase agricultural exports.

In addition, the government supports enterprises focused on foreign markets: grain exports in the amount of 60 million tons are expected in the current agricultural season, as well as an increase in the supply of fat-and-oil and dairy products. Also, Russian agricultural developments, including seeds, genetic and breeding materials, remain in demand abroad — the export rate for these items increased by 40% over the past year.

On May 29, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut announced that Russia had become the largest producer of legumes among exporting countries by the end of 2025.
