Cumhuriyet reported on possible early elections in Turkey in the fall

Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Parti) may consider holding early presidential elections in the fall if the government's ratings rise due to economic support measures. This was reported on May 30 by the Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet.

"If a trend towards an increase in votes for the ruling bloc is revealed during the polls, the option of holding early elections in November will be considered much more seriously," the publication says.

The authors of the material emphasize that the main measures of support for the party will be aimed at pensioners and employees of state institutions, who are the core of the party's support. If macroeconomic indicators improve, the ruling bloc may go to early elections this fall.
