Russian TV hits of the past years returned to the top of the rating of the series "Medialogia"

Time-tested classics are chosen by fans of TV series in Russia, and this is the main discovery of the rating, which was published by Medialogia on May 29. The list includes dozens of Russian and foreign projects.

Among the premieres of 2026, the most popular TV series in April included "Fingerprints," a detective story starring Oksana Akinshina and Dmitry Chebotarev, and the action—packed REN TV series "Grachi," in which a police captain follows the trail of a former Nazi camp supervisor.

There are only about a quarter of new series in the Russian rating, prepared by Medialogia. The rest are continuations of well—known franchises. And those that made it into the top thirty are pearls. The audience loved the series "Rooks" both for its intriguing plot and for the vivid acting of Artyom Tkachenko and Alexei Makarov.

"Lesha and I crossed paths only twice in the whole picture. These were difficult scenes, chases. He escaped on a longboat, and we chased him on a boat, on a warship," Tkachenko said.

The top five included: "Molodezhka", "Boys", "Magic battle", "Daddy's daughters" and "University". Three of them are domestic giants that appeared on the air more than 10 years ago. But the fact that the final season of the superhero series "Boys" aroused great audience interest is a special conversation.

"This is a bold position of the authors, who very satirically and fearlessly attack our society as a whole and the politics of one particular country, which is called the United States, and the whole world. I really like it and most of the audience too," said film reviewer Alexei Chernikov.

And even if fans still have questions about the final battle itself — it's hard to please them, remember the finales of "Game of Thrones" or "Stranger Things" — nevertheless, the events of the series have attracted attention. Those who like superhero projects, but somehow the series "Boys" passed them by, will now definitely be interested in the project thanks to the published rating, says Maxim Dobromyslov, producer and chairman of the jury of the New Movement festival.

"You just want to look at some topic. In short, you like fiction or maybe some kind of melodrama. You're sitting there talking: "I want to watch this kind of movie, with this approach, fiction, for example," he said.

The audience's preferences are bizarre. Everyone has their own taste. But the viewing statistics allow the creators of the series to remember the recipes of the best movie dishes. There are still a lot of Russian detectives in the rating: "Trace", "Capital punishment", "Conditional cop".

"Our series has something alive and something that exists only in our country: the atmosphere, the humor, these relationships. Precisely because we shoot about people first of all, not about murderers, not about maniacs, but about people who live in our country. They recognize themselves," said actor Denis Rozhkov.

The Russian audience loves thrills: Euphoria, which is on the seventh line, has a lot of criminal passions. "Dexter" and "The Walking Dead" are thrillers whose popularity is well justified.

"There are studies that suggest that genres such as quite dangerous, thriller, horror, which make us worry, are such a public thermometer. They say that the degree of tension in society is not high enough, it is a good thermometer for a healthy society," said Andrey Zolotarev, creative producer at NMG Studios.

The only anime in the rating is "Magic Battle", which is also about thrills. In short, the domestic audience of all ages makes healthy choices.

Medialogia published a rating of the most popular TV series for April 2026 on May 29. For the first time since January, the top TV series was topped by a Russian project, the TV series Molodezhka, with 2057 points. Medialogia emphasized that the main trend in April was nostalgic restarts and the return of archived franchises, which showed the greatest growth relative to March.
