NASA assessed the prospects of creating private bases on the Moon
NASA does not currently believe that the first missions to establish a base on the lunar surface can be private. This was announced on May 30 by Carlos Garcia-Galan, head of the NASA lunar base program.
"From our point of view on the lunar economy, it would certainly be ideal and wonderful if we could immediately create a market environment where industries would operate autonomously and innovate at an early stage. But that's not going to happen," he told RIA Novosti.
