Russians were told about the method of deception through account blocking messages
Scammers send messages to Russians on behalf of the Telegram "support service" with a warning about possible account blocking. The notifications mention allegedly numerous complaints about suspicious activity. Such messages are used to intimidate users and attempt to gain access to their accounts, it was reported on May 30.
"Suspicious activity from your account has been recorded in the system, which is a violation of the Telegram usage rules. It is very unfortunate that you have encountered this. Unfortunately, sometimes our anti-spam system reacts excessively harshly to certain actions," the scammers write, RIA Novosti reports.
The message says that due to allegedly numerous complaints about the user's account, tech Support introduces "time restrictions", while the text contains spelling and stylistic errors.
Next, the user is prompted to click on the link to "confirm the account" in case of disagreement with the lock. It is indicated that the message contains an active link, which should not be clicked.
