The International Skating Union (ISU) has not currently granted permission for Alexander Plushenko to change his sports citizenship from Russian to Azerbaijani, but will do so next week. This was reported on May 29 by the portal odds.ru .

It is clarified that problems with obtaining Clearance ISU are not expected, since the skater did not compete for the Russian national team at official tournaments.
