The Romanian president cited the reason for the lack of drone interception in Galac

Romanian soldiers were unable to intercept a drone that flew into the country and hit an apartment building in Galac, an attempt to shoot it down in the city could have led to casualties. Romanian President Nicusor Dan said this on May 29, speaking after a meeting of the Supreme National Security Council (CSAT).

"After the army radars detected the drone, <...> two F-16 fighter jets were immediately lifted into the air to intercept it. The safe neutralization of the device before it hit an apartment building proved impossible due to the rapid development of the situation and the low altitude in the city," the politician said.
