The Scientific Center for Arctic Studies in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District will receive 57.6 million rubles for research. The money will be used to purchase equipment for studying soil on highways, the press service of the district government reports.
The order on the allocation of funds was signed by Deputy Governor of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District Andrey Garanin, writes the news agency " <url>". The subsidy must be spent by the end of 2026.
The list of upcoming purchases includes an inflatable boat, a motor, and expensive thermometric scythes for analyzing seasonal soil changes. These devices are also used in drilling wells, pipelines and reservoirs.
Earlier, Izvestia wrote that Russian scientists have created a neural network that allows for more accurate prediction of Arctic storms. The implementation of the development can improve the safety of navigation on the Northern Sea Route, as well as air traffic and resource extraction in the region.
