Cosmetologist named the reasons for poor absorption of collagen
Surgeon, cosmetologist, trichologist, Ph.D. Alevtina Atagishieva told why collagen can be poorly absorbed.
In conversation with aif.ru On Friday, May 29, the expert noted that after 25 years of age, collagen production gradually decreases, and by 40 this is reflected on the skin — wrinkles appear and tone decreases. At the same time, according to her, supplements alone are not enough: stress strongly affects the skin condition, which accelerates the destruction of collagen and slows down its synthesis.
Atagishieva pointed out that chronic stress and high cortisol levels worsen the condition of the skin, therefore, to preserve youth, it is important not only to take supplements, but also to work with stress. In addition, the effectiveness of collagen depends on lifestyle — nutrition, sleep and the general condition of the body.
The doctor added that vitamin C plays a key role in the absorption of collagen: without it, the synthesis of its own fibers is impossible, so even expensive supplements may not have an effect when it is deficient.
