Muscovites won more than 4 thousand diplomas at the school Olympiad
More than 200,000 students in grades 5-11 from 88 regions of Russia took part in the Moscow School Olympiad (MOSH). 86.6 thousand people reached the final, 64 thousand of them were Muscovites, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said on his channel in Maks.
Moscow students have won more than 4,000 diplomas, the head of Moscow said. 860 children became winners, 3.1 thousand schoolchildren became prize—winners. Sobyanin stressed that in total, students from 401 schools in the city received awards.
In total, the Olympiad covered 26 areas, from mathematics and literature to genetics and information security. This year, a new profile has appeared — bioeconomics, which combines tasks at the intersection of natural sciences and social sciences for high school students. The Arabic Language Olympiad was also held for the first time.
According to the Mayor of Moscow, one of the most technologically advanced competitions was the practical round of the final in genetics. "Ninth graders conducted PCR tests on their own, and high school students immersed themselves in breeding work with fruit flies," Sobyanin said.
Earlier, the mayor of Moscow congratulated the capital's schoolchildren on their success at the All—Russian Olympiad - they won almost 2 thousand awards. At the same time, 35 students became absolute winners, 133 students successfully performed in several disciplines at once, 14 of them won diplomas in three subjects.
