Summary of the special operation in Ukraine for the week

A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. In response to Ukraine's terrorist attacks on civilian targets in Russia, the Russian Armed Forces launched massive and five group strikes with precision-guided air, sea, land-based weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles. As a result, enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, fuel and energy, transport and port infrastructure facilities used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), air bases, assembly shops, storage and launch sites for unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries were affected.

As a result of decisive actions, the Northern group of troops established control over the settlements of Granov, Novovasilevka, Kharkiv region, as well as Zapselye and Ryasnoye in Sumy region. During the specified period, the enemy lost over 1,245 people, 10 armored combat vehicles, 110 vehicles, seven field artillery guns and four electronic warfare stations.

The fighters of the western group of forces continued their active offensive operations and defeated the formations of three mechanized, two assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, two marine brigades and a defense brigade. The enemy's losses amounted to 1,340 soldiers, a tank, 37 armored combat vehicles, 128 vehicles, nine field artillery guns and five electronic warfare stations.

The military personnel of the South group of forces improved their tactical position and hit the manpower and equipment of the Ukrainian armed forces. In total, the enemy lost over 950 militants, three tanks, 26 armored combat vehicles, 111 vehicles, 17 field artillery guns, three Grad multiple rocket launcher combat vehicles and two electronic warfare stations in the area of responsibility of the Southern Group of Forces.

Units of the Center group of forces liberated the settlement of Novopodgorodnoye in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and also defeated the Ukrainian Armed Forces brigades for a week. During the week, enemy losses in this area amounted to more than 2,250 people, a tank, 22 armored combat vehicles, 58 vehicles and 15 field artillery guns. Seven electronic warfare stations were destroyed.

As a result of active offensive actions, the Vostok group of troops liberated the settlements of Vozdvizhenka in the Zaporizhia region and Dobropasovo in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The losses of the Ukrainian armed formations in the area of responsibility of the group of forces amounted to over 1970 soldiers, 16 armored combat vehicles, 49 vehicles and four field artillery guns.

The fighters of the Dnepr group of forces defeated the manpower and equipment of three mechanized, mountain assault brigades, a brigade of unmanned systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and two air defense brigades. During the week, the enemy lost more than 375 militants, five armored combat vehicles, 70 vehicles, three field artillery guns and 18 electronic warfare stations in this area.

Air defense systems shot down 44 guided aerial bombs, three UK-made Storm Shadow air-launched cruise missiles, three French-made long-range aircraft-launched SCALP missiles, 23 US-made HIMARS multiple launch rocket launchers and 2,628 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to the Ministry of Defense, since the beginning of the special military operation, 671 aircraft, 284 helicopters, 153332 unmanned aerial vehicles, 661 anti-aircraft missile systems, 29538 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1727 multiple rocket launchers, 35121 guns of field artillery and mortars, 62799 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
