An average of 11 children per day were killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon this week, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) said. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on May 29.

"In Lebanon, an average of 11 children are killed every 24 hours, as Israel has expanded strikes throughout the country, despite the current truce," the article says.

The agency recalled that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched massive strikes on towns and villages in southern Lebanon after Israel declared a new section of this territory a "war zone."

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on April 25 that the IDF had been ordered to strike Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. This decision was made in connection with the firing of rockets and drones (UAVs) into the territories of northern Israel, as well as troops stationed in southern Lebanon.

Al Jazeera TV channel, citing the Lebanese Ministry of Health, reported on May 27 that 31 people were killed as a result of Israeli strikes in Lebanon. At the same time, 40 more were injured. It was clarified that 14 people were killed in Burj al-Shamali, including women and children, and 16 more were injured.
