The Chinese authorities are building a large network of military installations in the north-west of the country, surrounding the mines of nuclear missiles. This was reported on May 29 by the Reuters news agency with reference to satellite images.

Analysts suggest that China intends to strengthen its nuclear arsenal. An extensive network of launch pads, bunkers, and communication hubs is being created near isolated nuclear missile silos in the Hami desert district.
