More than 150,000 Muscovites took part in the selection of names for new electric vessels, which were produced at the Moscow shipyard in 2026. The vote was held in the Active Citizen project. The first four vessels were named Taganka, Polyanka, Yakimanka and Maroseika in honor of the historical sites and ancient settlements of the capital. This was announced by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

"We continue to develop the city's regular river electric transport network on behalf of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. By the end of the year, we will replenish the electric fleet with 8 new vessels assembled at the Moscow shipyard. There are currently 31 electric vessels operating in the river area. In 2021, each of them was named after the small rivers of the capital, and the name for the first electric vessel was determined by voting in the Active Citizen project. This year, Muscovites have chosen the names of electric vessels again. More than 150,000 people participated in the project. We thank the citizens for their interest in the development of river electric transport," said Maxim Liksutov.

There are three regular river routes in the capital today — Kievsky — Fili Park, ZIL — Pechatniki and Novospassky — ZIL. Their total length is about 30 kilometers. Thanks to the launch of routes, more than 1.8 million residents of 22 districts of Moscow have gained access to a new type of public transport.

Eight more electric vessels are planned to be put on the routes by the end of the year. In addition to the names already selected, the ships Ostozhenka, Vozdvizhenka, Lubyanka and Sretenka will join the fleet. All of them are named after historical streets and districts of the capital.

The tradition of assigning names related to Moscow to river electric transport appeared back in 2021. Then the first electric vessel on the Moskva River was named "Sinichka" - in honor of one of the small rivers of the city. The name was also chosen by the residents during the voting on the Active Citizen platform.
