On May 28, the main event of the year for digital content creators, the National Award of the Institute for Internet Development (IRI), ended vividly and on a large scale in Moscow. For five years now, the participants and laureates of the event have been setting the bar for all significant media projects in the country.

Awards were presented in 22 nominations. The National Media Group (NMG) has become one of the leaders. From animation to highly social TV series, the holding's projects are watched and loved by millions.

From the silence and darkness, the main viral track of the last months of the singer Bearwolf bursts into the hall like a phoenix flame. At the IRI Awards, they are used to collecting all the trendiest and most important things from what gets on the Internet, and this is the fifth time they have done this.

"The National Internet Content Award has always been distinguished by its style, both visually and conceptually. This year's theme is "The Generation of Iran." In the five years of its existence, it has completely transformed the industry, growing a new community of creators," said Maxim Prikhoda, a correspondent for Izvestia.

Therefore, there are both real and virtual characters created by neural networks, both very young opinion leaders and media mastodons in the hall. Moreover, these are not only famous directors, producers and presenters, but also speakers of the highest level.

"We started with social media accounts, but now it's really real digital diplomacy," said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

The IRI Prize is awarded for socially significant projects. There are 15 nominations in total. The first one is "The Best animated Film". The NMG project "Three cats. Winter holidays" is about the new adventures of Cake, Compote and Caramel, about friendship and holidays.

"The most valuable thing is to send young viewers on new adventures," said Denis Vsesvyatsky, Director of the Animation and Licensing Department of CTC Animation.

There are also online and offline meetings at the IRI Awards. There you can see how the pranksters Vovan and Lexus communicate with a Western politician not via video link.

"I know that many in the West hate me for saying these words, but you can discuss anything here if you do it politely," said former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl.

Kneissl is among those who award prizes. This is where people's artists, federal ministers, and the most famous Russians do it.

One of the shortlisted projects of the National Media Group is dedicated to Alexander Ovechkin. This is a viral video where Sergey Zhukov congratulates Ovi on the record.

The award was given to the team of the series "Chemistry between us". It tells about the difficult and difficult topic of the fight against cancer in the language of comedy.

"People in a very bad mood and condition watched our series and said that it helps them get out of the crisis," said series director Karina Chuvikova.

One of the special prizes was awarded to the most tender series about people in the most difficult circumstances — "Lilies of the Valley".

"This is most likely as an advance for those future projects that we will do," said the producer and screenwriter of the series "Lilies of the Valley. Such a tender love" by Yuri Sapronov.

Not only did NMG take awards in the most prestigious nominations, the holding's projects were among the contenders in almost every one of them. "80 days to Victory", "for teenagers.Russia", the historical detective story "Dear Willy" — all this is a manifestation of an important social mission that the holding has been carrying out for a long time and with pride.

"The National Media Group was indeed the first to pave the way for socially significant content, those who raised the topics of socially significant content in creativity and art. In fact, we are very pleased that the entire industry has followed us," said Svetlana Balanova, CEO of NMG.

This is just one of the trends noted at the Institute for the Development of the Internet: everything on the Web is becoming more mature.

"The events that have happened to us over the past five years have transformed us from cheerful teenagers on the Internet into already quite conscious, hopefully still young people," said Alexey Goreslavsky, Director General of ANO IRI.

"The Internet is becoming a platform for the formation of not only artistic meanings, but also views on a particular situation," said theater and film actor Andrei Merzlikin.

"It was 2018, it was 'Louie Louie,' now it's 'Give him Strength,'" said rap artist Alexander Stepanov (ST).

That's why they're watching more and more historical blogs, listening to political podcasts, and launching social projects. Now that no one is separating the Internet from traditional media, it is clear that the main battle for minds, hearts and memory is taking place online.

Cartoon "Three cats. Winter Holidays" from NMG received the IRI Award the day before. The NMG project was recognized as the best in the Animation Content category. It has already become the second full-length animated film about the characters of the popular animated series. A total of 75 projects were included in the shortlist of the national award. The IRI Award supports talented authors working in the field of digital content.
